The caged bird sings...
The Japanese word, “origami” is a combination of two words in Japanese: “ori” which means “to fold” and “kami” which means “paper”. It is believed that Japanese origami began in the 6th century and because of the high costs of paper at the time, origami was only used for ceremonial purposes.
“Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning” –Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings 1969
